Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Role:

Your role as a Mechanical Engineer involves providing technical service, executing small design projects for equipment repair/replacement, and enhancing equipment reliability and safety within the Maintenance, Technology, or Reliability Teams.
  • Interface with operations, maintenance, technology, reliability, and construction teams to troubleshoot, optimize, and ensure safe operations.
  • Collaborate with various groups to maintain compliance and integrity, authorize equipment, piping, and relief valve operations and testing.
  • Manage project activities including scoping, design, start-up support, evaluations, and documentation, utilizing codes, CAD, PSM, MOC, and CVP.
  • Participate in safety studies (HAZOP, PHA) and drive MOC for small projects.
  • Issue mechanical packages for equipment repairs.
  • Provide estimates and designs for small capital projects and lead implementation.
  • Support large capital and new technology projects for process optimization.
  • Assist as an engineer during turnarounds.
  • Implement the INEOS 20 Principles.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university by December 2024 or May 2025.
  • Minimum 3.0 or greater G.P.A. out of 4.0.


Preferred experience includes:
  • Plant experience during cooperative education or summer internships is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment, motor controls, electrical systems, arc flash studies.
  • Troubleshooting motor controls up to 4160 volts.
  • Sizing conduits, cables for motors, MCCs, feeders.
  • Experience with outside vendors on electrical system studies.
  • Instrumentation design knowledge (field to DCS systems).
  • Experience with Triconex PLCs (a plus).
  • Troubleshooting instrumentation loops.
  • Control and interlock system design and programming.
  • Sizing and selecting instruments and control valves.


Skills and Competencies
  • Strong engineering skills in process equipment including pumps, compressors, piping systems, pressure vessels, fired equipment, exchangers, and relief valves.
  • Innovative with a focus on safety, quality, cost reduction, and production improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Team player with good listening abilities.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Proficient in managing change and multiple priorities.
  • Results-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
