Leidos is hiring a Systems Engineer to work with a Government-Contractor team providing support to a near real-time, geospatially accurate Common Operating Picture (COP) toolset and associated to support mission requirements. This COP enables sharing and reuse of geospatial intelligence across multiple function areas
in support of military operations. As a Systems Engineer you will develop and manage systems level requirements, develop operational systems concepts, originate design concepts or perform systems level integration and test for highly complex systems. You will interact with systems users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage systems level requirements, develop operational systems concepts, originating design concepts or performing systems level integration and test for highly complex systems.
  • Interacts with systems users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design.
  • Participates in the developments of test strategies.
  • Solves engineering problems in the functional area to which assigned.
  • Plans and performs engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering, and customer specifications.
  • In coordination with security and information assurance procedures, implement safeguard measures to prevent damage and unauthorized modification and disclosure.

Basic Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience OR Master's Degree and 0 years of experience. 4 years work experience, OR Associate's Degree plus 2 years of experience, may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Degree in computer science, Information systems, Engineering, business or related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Experience in requirements analysis, design, and coding methodologies; documentation standards; configuration management; DoD software policies; and DoD test and evaluation requirements; real-time operating systems, distributed systems, modeling and simulation; data base design and management, and resource utilization assessment.
  • Experience with agile software development processes and systems engineering best practices.
  • Able to track, analyze, and communicate commercial technology trends and recommendations to a non-technical audience.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • An active secret level security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is required for this role.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Security + certification is a plus.
  • Experience with geospatial software products, including the Esri suite of products.
  • Experience with DevOps environment using Atlassian tool suite.

Pay Range: Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
