The Associate Strategy Director, Connections is tasked with bringing modern, social and community-minded creative ideas to life. You thrive on building relationships with your IAT partners and clients, and leverage them to build and sell nontraditional ideas.

Location:
Given the nature of our Strategy team and the client assigned to this role, we are only considering candidates that currently live in or wish to relocate to New York City, in the near future (first 30 days of employment).
The annual salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000 and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic location and experience. Other compensation includes relocation costs, if applicable.

What You'll Do:
- Craft exceptional Connections strategies: Idea-led and with a deep understanding of our target audiences, you design each project to live in optimal spaces across a brand's ecosystem. You're adept at understanding where an idea should come to life to optimally travel, but are also have an innate ability to organize creative work, shaping Connections Frameworks to provide structure and rigor
- Social expertise: Your passion for social runs deep. You're always aware of the latest platforms, units and trends, and your expertise makes you a trusted resource. You've developed social strategies and editorial calendars across all major platforms, and across paid, organic and influencer. Always brand first, you have a keen understanding of the trends and moments that are right for brand partners to appear around. You have a proven track record of bringing non-traditional, social native concepts to market
- Guide creative: You can seamlessly translate knowledge of how audiences behave across platforms into inspiration for creative teams. Filled with examples and an attitude that makes you indispensable, you will collaborate with creatives from briefing specific assets to shaping the work to drive earned media. Building on predetermined deliverables, you possess an understanding of the spaces an idea needs to appear within for maximum impact and know how to simplify concepts to make them consumer and client friendly
- Drive IAT partnership & collaboration: Build strong relationships across the IAT, but especially with our media partners. Make sound media recommendations and be comfortable challenging when placements don't serve the idea and client business objectives
- Audience expertise: Be comfortable defining and building audience segmentations, shared mindsets and translating them into buying audiences within media contexts. You must be comfortable using third party tools like GWI to build audiences, but also keen to collaborate with our data partners to identify hypotheses and most relevant insights to craft our strategies around. Prepare and give presentations on findings & recommendations for internal and external stakeholders
- Actively contribute to IAT and client workshops, helping refine ideas to best service our audiences and brand ideas equally
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in strategy, media or connections planning
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate an understanding of how and where Connections can add value
- Track record of exceptional connections strategy outputs, ranging across audience segmentations, consumer journeys, ecosystems, briefs, frameworks and go-to-market plans. Ability to own and lead internal and external workshops and brainstorms.
- Client-facing agency experience with prior exposure managing across robust client organizations is a must. Ability to build strong relationships across agency leads and create growth opportunities for Connections. Ability to harness your influence to sell-in and defend work, pushing creative work to be its very best.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills. Ability to write clear POV's, client-ready communication, and presentations.
- An advertising, marketing, media and creative enthusiast with a passion for pop culture and data.
- Literate in digital analytics (macro trends and website based), social listening, social publishing (Sprinklr, Hootsuite, ...), consumer databases (GWI, YouGov, ...).
- Knowledge of marketing channels and media mixes. Prior experience in media planning a plus
