Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) JobID: 6246 Position Type: Support Staff/Health Aide Date Posted: 10/29/2024 Location: North High School Additional Information: Show/Hide Job Type Full time Benefits Eligibility Benefits Eligible Schedule 9-months Monday through Friday Salary Range Group 5 from $20.42 to $25.40 per hour Position Purpose CNAs provide daily care of students under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Responsibilities * Provides for activities by assisting with serving meals, feeding students as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning students. * Provides care by administering and establishing toileting routines that include diaper changes and applying restraints. * Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and following students care plan at all times. * Provides student comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting students; and reporting observations of the student(s) to campus staff. * Assisting with students during daily activities, including academic activities * Assisting with a team when a student is escalated to maintain safety of the escalated student, students in the classroom and staff * Up to 20% of the day may be used to support the nurse's office with daily duties, as needed. * Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. * Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures. * Protects FPS value by keeping student information confidential. * Serves and protects the Fargo Public School District by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure. * Complete district training on de-escalation techniques for students who many have emotional difficulties Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Minimum Qualifications * Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology * Medication Administrator * Knowledge of relevant nursing care * Friendly and professional bedside manner * Maintains current CPR certification. * Multi-tasking skills * Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills * Understands legal implications of patient care Education and Experience Requirements * Certification with accredited training course through the State of North Dakota and current certification through American Heart Association in Basic Life * 1 year of nursing assistant experience * Appropriate license Internal and External Clientele and Purpose of Contact Example: Personal contact with students, staff, parents/guardians, faculty, and administrators is an essential part of the position and requires the ability to share information and must be sensitive to people and their needs. Freedom to Act Decision(s) Position Makes and Decision(s) Referred to Higher Authority The incumbent performs tasks under the direction of a certified teacher and responds to day-to-day needs, answer questions, and respond to emergent issues. Non-emergent issues are discussed with the Teacher or Building Principal. The incumbent takes initiative to ensure completion of all tasks and will adjust priorities to accommodate competing workload demands.
