With opportunities for professional growth, continuous learning, and flexible work arrangements, you will be part of a team committed to innovation and excellence.Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:• Lead, inspire, and manage a team of highly skilled engineers focused on developing security solutions.• Encourage a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.• Provide coaching, mentorship, and career development opportunities for your team members, fostering a high-performing and motivated engineering culture.Technical Expertise:• Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of multi-tenant cloud-native solutions with a primary focus on AWS• Ensure adherence to best coding, architecture, and secure application development practices, maintaining high security engineering, code quality, performance, and reliability standards.• Collaborate with engineers to break complex projects into manageable components, facilitating iterative development and continuous delivery.Collaboration and Communication:• Work closely with product and engineering managers, designers, and architects to ensure alignment between technical capabilities, business goals, and risk.• Maintain clear and transparent communication channels within and across teams, providing updates on project status, system architecture, and timeline expectations.•Coordinate with distributed teams to ensure security engineering controls in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.Operational Excellence:•Define and uphold Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and security metrics for the services owned by your team.•Implement and optimize processes for continuous improvement and operational resilience.• Transform reactive processes into proactive, reliable systems and tools that enhance operational efficiency.Requirements and Preferred Experience:BA/BS in a computer-science-related discipline or equivalent experience requiredMinimum 1+ years of experience in technical leadership and people management.At least 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with one or more modern languages such as C##, Java, Python, .NET, JavaScript, or NodeJS.Demonstrated success in leading and building robust and practical security engineering teams.Extensive experience with security architecture, secure code review, API security, threat modeling, zero-trust, and Secure-by-Default practices.Experience in reverse engineering malware, threat intelligence and cyber incident response.Extensive experience with AWS cloud security services and cloud-native architecture.Solid understanding of platform control plane architecture, API design and multi-tenant architecture.Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.Experience building and supporting heavily utilized at-scale consumer-facing enterprise SaaS software.Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.Ability to navigate ambiguity and guide your team toward successful project delivery.Proven track record of coaching and developing engineers, fostering an environment conducive to learning and professional growth.Background in managing rapid-growth environments and remote teams.$131,400 - $164,300 a yearOn target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.What makes OpenGov unique» Leadership: CEO Zac Bookman (MPA from Harvard and JD from Yale) is truly a mission-driven CEO.
