Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Functions proficiently in all technical aspects of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Assists the cardiology team in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. Performs a variety of duties including operation of radiographic equipment, operation of electrophysiologic and hemodynamic recording systems and assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional catheterization procedures.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma is required. Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology or completion of a program for radiology technology. A Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)(CI) by recognized credential body is required. Five years of experience as a RCIS or ARRT (CI) is required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or ARRT (CI) by recognized credential body is required. For the Adult Cath Lab technologists - Current BLS and ACLS certification is required. RCIS is preferred. For the Pediatric Cath Lab technologists - Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification is required. ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of hire. RCIS is preferred.
