General Summary:
The PA or APRN under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:
- Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic urologic conditions also including urogynecologic/urologic conditions within the clinic and hospital setting
- Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
- Will manage new patients and follow up patient visit, assisting and developing proper plan of care and diagnosis
- Office procedures include but not limited to: Bladder instillations, foley management, endometrial biopsies, tibial nerve stimulation, post operative care
- Surgical Assistance for Urogynecologic procedures including vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic female pelvic reconstructive procedures
- Monitors the patients course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
- Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
- Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
Schedule:
- Schedule Details: Monday - Friday
- Practice call Rotation - 1 week every 8 weeks; includes rounding and overnight coverage
- Hospitals covered: AH Lake Mary
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
- Strong communication skills
- Strong medical decision-making skills
Required Education and Experience:
- Masters degree in Nursing (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) Studies
- 1-3 years of experience as a PA-C or ARNP; Urogynecology or Urology (preferred)
Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
- Current, valid Florida PA or APRN license
- Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
- BLS & ACLS
