Impact Recruiting Solutions is currently seeking an Internist or a Family Medicine Physician to fill an opening with a network of federally qualified community health centers located in Bronx, New York.
Requirements of the Internist/Family Medicine Physician :
- Must have an MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of accredited residency program
- Must be Board Certified
- Must have an active State license
- Understanding of and passion for Community Healthcare is preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred

- The salary for this position is $225,000 - $250,000 / yr

Responsibilities of the Internist/Family Medicine Physician :
- Supports team-based approach to ensure the highest delivery of care outcomes.
- Provides comprehensive health services for children; early prescreening and diagnostic testing; well-child; and school health programs.
- Performs physical examinations, makes diagnoses, develops treatment plans, orders treatment procedures, medication, laboratory, and radiological tests, consultations, and other appropriate health care services.
- Performs periodic well-child examinations and treats children with acute or chronic illnesses, prescribes treatment, medication, and follow-up care.
- Review laboratory, x-ray, consultation reports, and other pertinent reports appropriate for comprehensive health care.
- Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Explains procedures and discusses test results on prescribed treatment with patients and/or parents.
- Make referrals for specialized care when indicated.
- Collaborates with both onsite and other physicians and health providers to ensure integrated and comprehensive primary care for children.
- Advises patients, parents, and the community concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Make referrals to programs such as Development Services, Child Protective Services, Mental Health, Social and
- Economic Services and other services as indicated or necessary.
- Plans, implements, or administers health programs or standards in the organization for information, prevention, or treatment of injury or illness.
- Provides 24-hour on-call service on a rotating weekly basis.
- Maintain patients' records.
- Participate in professional organizations and completes a minimum of 12 hours of organizational training per year.
- Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals (patient identifiers) and HIPAA requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of long-term goals, tactics, and benchmarks for the community initiative materials such as banners and posters to be used in recruitment events.
- Receives an ER notification but the patient was not admitted, conducts follow-up to ascertain the reason for an ER visit, and provides a follow-up PCP appointment.
- Complies with UHP learning and development requirements.
