-Looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pain Management Physician that will function as a Pain Specialist in an ambulatory care setting in Manhattan, NY. Adheres to the highest standards of medical practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times;Practices according to the standards of the DEA, NYS DOH, and the American Academy of Pain Management;Examines patients with various medical conditions, both chronic and acute, and uses appropriate testing to determine cause and level of discomfort of patients pain;Uses various modalities, both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic, to manage the patients pain;Must be able to use interventional techniques, such as nerve blocks and spinal injections, to be able to manage the patients pain;Appropriately prescribes medical treatment and medication to patients for pain management;Coordinates work with nurses, social workers, pharmacists, psychologists and other health care providers;Explains procedures and discusses test results or prescribed treatments with patients;Ensures timely and appropriate documentation in the EMR of all intervention;Continually consults with Chief Executive Office and other professionals on staff, as needed, regarding patient care, assessment, and education of patients;Participates in continuing education, and other patient care programs established by clinic requirements;Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations;Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette;Performs in a tactful and professional manner;Excellent computer skill that includes sound knowledge of the use of an EMR.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSDegree in medicine from an accredited school and valid/current license to practice medicine in New York State;Current DEA Certificate of Registration;Board certified or board eligible in Pain Management and Palliative or Anesthesia;Must have completed a residency or fellowship program in Pain Management and Palliative Care or Anesthesia;Professional clinical experience in Pain Management;Current BLS, ACLS and Infection Control Certificates.Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including paid malpractice.
