As a Water Resources Engineer in the Environmental and Water Resources Group (EWRG), you will support a range of water resources projects across the Midwest. The EWRG is a diverse 55+ person team looking for talented engineers with a passion for water resources. EWRG works on a variety of water, wastewater, and stormwater projects including modeling of distribution and collection systems, asset management, stream restoration, green infrastructure, and a range of facility designs.
A successful candidate for the Water Resources Engineer position is team oriented, with strong analytical skills. The candidate takes initiative and is willing to stay current with software, regulations, and technology. This position could be either fulltime or part time with flexible working arrangements available.

Your Responsibilities
- Perform various water resources-related calculations and analyses using a variety of software tools.
- Embrace our advanced technology approach that utilizes cloud-based data management and the latest water modeling software.
- Assist in gathering and evaluating raw data.
- Organize information for use in reports, maps, presentations, and other documents.
- Understand funding programs at the state and federal level.
- Effectively communicate project goals, alternatives, recommendations, and outcomes to project team, client and public.
- Based on interest, there are opportunities to perform field data collection, supervise construction projects, and design facilities.
- Act as a task manager on studies, reports, design and/or construction of water distribution systems, sewage collection, storage facilities, control vaults, pumping stations, booster stations, water and wastewater treatment, stormwater systems, and green infrastructure.
- If interested, opportunities will be available for client interaction and to train and mentor entry-level staff.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field required.
- Ideal candidate will have at least four years of water resources related experience.
- State of Michigan Professional Engineer license preferred. State of Ohio, Kentucky, and/or Tennessee Professional Engineer license desirable but not required.
- Experience with water, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure analysis, planning, and design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working with GIS, AutoCAD, Revit, Matlab, hydrologic and hydraulic design programs, such as PC/EPA-SWMM, EPA-Net, Infowater, HEC-HMS or HEC-RAS preferred.
