Title: Human Resources Manager

Pay: $100,000 - $130,000

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager will run the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices for Forestry operations. This role will work with the corporate office to support the West coast divisions.

Reports to: Corporate Director of Human Resources

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Implements onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Lead local HR business partnering activities to support the local business needs and improve employee experience
  • Prevailing Wage implementation to include apprentices, rate and DIR
  • Handles Union relations and liaison between staff and union representatives for HR related needs
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Oversees the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • At least five years managing HR department highly preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
