Primary Function
The Technical Producer leads the technical production of high-profile events, collaborating closely with Show Producers, Operations, and Engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in broadcast systems, live video delivery, and audio engineering, with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges and manage studio systems setup for complex productions.
This role requires expertise in coordinating pre-production technical requirements, implementing innovative workflows for live production, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of live broadcasts.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
Range: $110k - $120k
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work closely with Show Producers, Operations, and Engineering teams to oversee all technical production elements, ensuring alignment with creative and content objectives.
- Participate in pre-production meetings to gather technical requirements for high-profile events, ensuring all technical aspects are prepared and tested
- Collaborate with creative teams to configure production systems that bring creative visions to life. Work with Broadcast Engineering to set up and configure studio systems for productions
- Design and implement new workflows, tools, and technologies to optimize live production efficiency and quality
- Coordinate with Engineering, Streaming, and Live Operations teams to execute pre-live technical checklist testing, including transmission, audio/video, and captioning
- Partner with Engineering, Streaming, and Live Operations teams to resolve technical challenges, provide solutions, and establish clear timelines for issue resolution
- Keep producers and stakeholders informed of any operational challenges, proposed solutions, and progress toward resolution. Ensure all teams have up-to-date content from Live Producers, partners, or post-production
- Ensure proper setup and operation of studio and broadcast systems for live productions, maintaining exacting standards for audio, video, and production quality
- Participate in team activities, training, documentation, and special projects

Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to manage multiple aspects of a live event simultaneously, from technical setup to creative direction
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to manage escalations and build strong client relationships
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, especially under the pressure of a live broadcast environment
- Experience with ticketing and tracking tools such as Jira, Airtable, or Servicenow.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools for studio/event setups.
- Familiarity with emerging IP media technologies, including SMPTE 2022-6, ST2110 (10, 20, 21, 30, 31, 40), AES-67, Dante audio, and NMOS (AS-04, 05, 06).
- Network IP protocol knowledge including HTTP, RTMP, RTSP, RTP, SRT, and RIST.
- Experience with REMI/Backhaul workflows and technologies.
- Proven ability to lead technical production efforts while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to provide quick, effective solutions.
- Ensures high-quality, flawless execution in every aspect of technical production.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of video and audio production, with special attention to emerging technologies and customer use cases
Education & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Audio, Video, and Broadcast Systems Engineering, working with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)
- Certifications such as DES, CTS, PMP, or similar are encouraged but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Media Production, Broadcast Engineering, IT, Film, or a related field is preferred.
