Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement local sales strategies in support of overall business strategies
- Actively support the management of key customers
- Coach and support sales team to meet individual sales targets within their region
- Ensure that Sales Representatives and Specialists (and other direct reports) have a regional business strategy, account plans for major customers and prospects, and SMART goals in place to deliver an increase in regional revenue and profitability
- Ensure pricing is based on Messer's value creation and unique selling proposition
- Resolve escalated customer complaints to drive customer satisfaction and proactively ensure root causes have been addressed
- Collaborate with Retail Operations & Customer Service, PGP Operations, Performance Transformation, Sales Bulk & Onsite, and Support Functions to ensure seamless customer service offering
- Inspire a desire to win and excel
- Train, the coach, develop and manage sales team; address performance issues proactively and promptly
- Foster open communication and creates an atmosphere in which timely, quality information flows within the team
- Oversight to drive and ensure customer resolution of non-conforming customer sites
- Ensure that the sales team operates ethically
- In coordination with HSEQ, drive the safety agenda to ensure Messer operates in a manner that is safe for employees, customers and the public at large
- Ensure safe, respectful and environmentally sound business practices throughout the Sales organization
Required Key Skills (Functional and Technical)
- Proven delivery of superior sales targets
- Experience and knowledge of the Industrial product market
- Strong People Management and interpersonal skills
- Proven coaching skills
- Proven commercial acumen
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of modern business systems
- Relevant business-related territory qualifications are preferable
- Bilingualism is required (English/French)
Required Qualifications/ Experience
- Minimum 8 years combined sales and management experience,
- College Diploma/University Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience means four years of experience per year of education required.
