The Senior Project Manager of Strategy and Compliance leads the work within departments of the Office of the Chief Operating Officer regarding strategy implementation and alignment, performance monitoring and evaluation, policy development, and effective operating processes. This role serves to connect strategy, goals, and processes to the efficient and effective performance of Operations, supporting the Director of School and Facilities Planning and all Operations teams. The position is also responsible for overseeing real estate operations, including school leases and permits.

Essential Functions
  • Monitors and evaluates strategic direction and leads assigned teams in developing recommendations for strategic long-term goals for Operations' departments, in alignment with the vision of the Director of School and Facilities Planning and Chief Operating Officer.
  • Plans, directs, monitors, and evaluates the implementation of systemic operational initiatives and accountability initiatives in Operations' departments, focusing on performance improvement and compliance with audit recommendations, processes and procedures, corrective action plans, and governmental mandates.
  • Provides guidance and direction to departments under the Chief Operating Officer with a focus on strategy, performance management, and compliance.
  • Develops project plans, work breakdown structures, and schedules required to successfully complete projects on time and within budget constraints.
  • Leads teams in the design, development, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of performance improvement plans.
  • Oversees real estate operations, including management of school leases and permits, working closely with the Real Estate Specialist to ensure efficient utilization of school facilities.
  • Supports the Director of School and Facilities Planning in analyzing school buildings to determine whether changes in the actual use of the facility are warranted.
  • Assists in the development and coordination of reviews of schools being considered for construction, closing, or consolidation.
  • Collaborates with the Director of School and Facilities Planning on enrollment projections, comprehensive rezoning studies, and long-term facilities needs programming.
  • Fosters and promotes teamwork in the design, development, and performance of operational strategies within Operations departments and across City Schools.
  • Develops strategic alliances and works collaboratively with agencies, community members, and other stakeholders.
  • Provides appropriate supervision, mentoring, and professional growth and development opportunities to assigned staff.


Maximum Salary 158364.00

Minimum Salary 89069.00

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of experience in project management, strategy implementation, or a related field. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of performance management and improvement systems.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methods.
  • Experience in real estate management and facilities planning preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the knowledge and use of technical computer applications.
