We are currently hiring a mid-level Mechanical Engineer in our Building Engineering Division - Energy team.
LaBella's Energy team provides comprehensive energy efficiency and renewable energy consultancy, including feasibility analyzes, design, construction management, and commissioning services. Our engineers are well-versed in all aspects of building and energy systems design relating to a variety of new construction, renovations, and design/build projects for a variety of clientele.
The Mechanical Engineer will work with our engineers in a lead role on a variety of decarbonization/electrification projects to develop projects in feasibility stages all the way through design and construction. A successful candidate will be able to work well in a team, mentor junior engineers, and communicate effectively with clients.
Duties
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Duties
- Lead design of building HVAC systems and district energy systems
- Field investigations to document conditions in existing buildings
- Engineering calculations and computer modeling in support of HVAC design
- Work with Jr Engineers to develop and review project drawings and documentation
- Interact directly with clients by articulating technical concepts and assisting in project decision making process.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
Requirements
- 3-10 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
- Well-rounded experience in HVAC and hydronic system design
- Designing geothermal or district energy systems experience preferred
- Experience with Revit or AutoCAD
- New York State Professional Engineer's license is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
