The Purchasing Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics provides oversight and direction for the hardware purchasing team that manages inventory planning, item setups, and all purchasing of raw materials to support hardware production, ensuring inventory is maintained at optimal levels so company goals and customer requirements are met.
This position is part of the Integrated Supply Chain Team located in Chaska, MN, and will be an on-site role. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Responsible for hiring and performance management of direct reports.
- Accountable for developing supply plans that consider forecasts, availability of materials, and manufacturing capacity.
- Drive targeted, sustainable improvements in Supplier On-Time Delivery, Margin Expansion, Working Capital turns, Inventory, and related KPI's/objectives using Danaher Business System (DBS) tools, facilitation skills, and the change management process.
- Responsible for providing materials to manufacturing areas based on planned production schedules.
- Manages relationships with other functional leaders and teams to support the business fully.
- Drive cost improvements, including Excess and Obsolete materials, aged inventory, and scrap.
- Communicates potential stockouts and issues to executive management, users, and manager.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree with 9+ years' experience or Master's degree with 7+ years' experience.
- 2+ years of previous experience leading a Procurement or Materials Planning function.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems: Oracle working knowledge is preferred.
- Experience using written and verbal communication and interpersonal leadership skills in a high-volume work environment.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Prior experience working in an FDA/ISO-regulated environment
- Knowledge and application of Kanban and other lean methodologies
