Responsibilities:
The Director of Procurement is a newly created role at Shift4. Reporting directly to the SVP, Finance and Treasury, the Director of Procurement will be responsible for designing, planning and managing all activities involved in sourcing and procurement. Specifically, manage, maintain and negotiate third party supplier relationships and function as a liaison between said suppliers and internal stakeholders. Investigate, assess and map current processes within the company, then design a robust and organized procurement function that ensures continuous improvement and efficiencies in related processes, systems, and costs. The Director of Procurement will have an innate ability to self-start, build collaborative cross-functional relationships, communicate and negotiate effectively, and set the scope and vision for the Procurement Team at Shift4.

Responsibilities:
The Director of Procurement is a newly created role at Shift4. - Analyze existing third-party spends for relevancy, necessity, efficiency and implement optimization strategies.
- Develop and implement a functional framework including policies, procedures, and team scope for efficiently acquiring third-party supplier goods and services.
- Plan and execute sourcing strategies relevant to internal customer needs and priorities achieving overall company objectives of enabling commerce.
- Negotiate and manage supplier and vendor relationships, national account status, key management connections, rebate incentives, and advantageous payment terms.
- Establish strong, collaborative cross-functional relationships to clearly define and enable requisition procedures and processes, with a focus on fundamental needs balanced with innovation and financial constraints.
- Implement and drive process improvement of workflow, such as incoming project order intake, management, negotiation, and communication with internal and external parties.
- Evaluate the benefits of maintaining internal catalogs for use on requisitions.
- Provide detailed updates and analytics to the Executive Team on all elements of Procurement.
- Recruit, lead, coach, and mentor staff on procurement best practices.
- Lead and manage company requirement for physical receiving process of goods and accounting of goods within the Purchase order and collaboration with Accounts Payable and Treasury.
- Maintain knowledge of all market conditions that may impact the company and advise of trends and the potential impacts. Maintain updated knowledge of market status and current rates for goods and services.
- Work collaboratively with management to coordinate supplier selection, credit and terms, track supplier performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluation.
- Continuously analyze and identify opportunities for optimization and ensure SOX compliance within the Procurement function.
- This role begins as a solo contributor with the opportunity to build and lead a best-in-class global procurement team from the ground up.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related business discipline with exceptionally demonstrable and tangible experience in successfully executing corporate procurement functions.
- 10+ years of experience in an established procurement organization.
- Expertise and knowledge to design and implement a Procurement Function from the ground up.
- Strong leadership and management skill set.
- Results-oriented, metrics-driven leader with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development and compliance.
- Experience with sourcing and procurement and building a vendor program.
