Bachelor's degree in Engineering
7 or more years of relevant experience
LEED AP credential and familiarity with various construction delivery process, such as Design assist and Design-Build are a plus.

Your Opportunity
In this role, you will draw on your strong buildings engineering knowledge and deep industry experience to consistently produce superior deliverables that meet project requirements and exceed project manager and client expectations.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Serves as the Lead Designer and internal technical design expert on assigned projects.
- Performs field investigations and analyzes existing conditions to develop comprehensive engineering solutions.
- May perform power system studies including load flow analysis, short-circuit analysis, protective coordination, and arc-flash studies.
- Applies strong buildings electrical engineering skills and knowledge to research and develop solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Prepares required calculations to meet project requirements
- Supports project requirements including basis-of design narratives, opinions-of-probable-costs estimates, drawing documentation, systems design and technical specifications.
- Collaborates with project managers and supporting design staff as part of a coordinated design team.
- Actively participates in the development of design and junior engineering staff through work on projects as well as serving as a trainer, mentor and resource for junior design staff.
- Effectively delegates work to production support staff.
- Participates in marketing and business development events and proposal creation.
- Reviews drawings and researches electrical and safety code issues to comply with national, city, state, and county regulations.
- Frequently interacts with clients and project stakeholders.
- Communicates with manufacturers and contractors to address challenges and develop practical designs.
- Provides input or leads the creation and editing of technical specifications.
- Provides contract documents that meet required codes and quality assurance standards.
- Resolves design conflicts and questions and provides recommendations to address issues and add value.
- Understands and works within project budgets and schedules to help project manager meet project financial and schedule goals.
- Collaborates with the practice and market leaders to obtain and disseminate technical knowledge.
- Acts as QC reviewer on projects and participates in project Peer Reviews
- Acts as Subject Matter Specialist in at least one functional area.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Deep buildings electrical design knowledge, including but not limited to electrical, lighting, and fire/life safety systems, device layouts, circuiting, panel schedules and load calcs, riser diagrams, and schedules.
- Ability to independently prepare and review detailed drawings.
- Ability to integrate design elements with architectural, civil, structural, ICT, mechanical and other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design.
- Strong knowledge applicable codes and standards.
- Knowledge of specialty engineering applications such as SKM Power Tools.
- Ability to apply logic, reasoning, and organizational skills to structure concepts and ideas into deliverables.
- Ability to demonstrate a credible and trustworthy presence through professionalism, demeanor, and technical knowledge.
- Familiarity with and ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively support technical project consultation with key clients and project stakeholders.
- Familiarity with CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software; in particular, AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
