Position Overview:

The Psychologist performs advanced and/or senior-level psychological work. The role involves coordinating psychological activities, conducting evaluations, diagnosing, counseling clients, and conducting research. The Psychologist reports to the Psychology Manager and may supervise others. This position requires a PhD in Psychology and works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Psychological Services:
    • Conduct psychological evaluations and diagnostics.
    • Provide counseling to clients.
    • Administer and interpret psychological tests.
    • Develop treatment plans targeting specific behaviors or symptoms.
    • Conduct behavior analyses and monitor behavior modification plans.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute psychological insights for comprehensive treatment plans.
    • Provide clinical consultation for diagnosis clarification and treatment recommendations.
  • Program Development & Supervision:
    • Develop, coordinate, and evaluate mental health and psychological services.
    • Provide clinical supervision to the psychology department.
    • Offer ongoing training for clinical and paraprofessional staff.
    • Conduct program evaluation studies and psychological research.
  • Compliance & Other Duties:
    • Comply with HHS Immunization Policy (vaccinations and serologic evidence).
    • Ensure compliance with HRD mandatory training requirements and participate in ongoing training.
    • Provide excellent customer service.
    • Support disaster response and recovery efforts or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation, including potential alternate shift assignments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of:
    • Psychological evaluation methods and psychometrics.
    • Diagnostic criteria and physiological principles.
  • Skills in:
    • Psychological evaluation, assessment techniques, and mediation procedures.
  • Abilities to:
    • Provide counseling, interpret diagnostic evaluations, develop behavior modification plans, and supervise others.
    • Communicate effectively and analyze behaviors.

Requirements:

  • Licensure: Licensed by the Texas Board of Psychology as a Psychologist.
  • Education: PhD in Psychology.
  • Languages: Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
