Job Overview:

Fiber Installation Technician: Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and customer experience of high speed Internet and voice services, working both inside and outside the home.

Company Provides:

Vehicle, Gas, Laptop, Cell Phone, and Uniform

Installation of Internet Service may include:
  • Connecting Fiber Optic jumpers.
  • Installation of Customer Premises Equipment [i.e. ONTs, Routers, Switches]
  • Installations may require running or reusing COAX or CAT5 wiring
  • Verification of Services Provided
  • Network configuration of customer-owned computers
  • Customer Education on Internet access
Recommended but NOT REQUIRED Skills:
  • Experience in TELECOM Installation & Service: Cat5 and/or COAX
  • Experience configuring Routers and Home Networks
  • Experience wiring various Electronic Components
  • Knowledge of Basic Home Construction
  • Working knowledge of Basic Hand and Power Tools.
  • Experience working in confined spaces: Attics/ Crawl Spaces
  • Customer Service
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of Computer Operating Systems
Employment Requirements:
  • Valid state driver's license and non-negligent driving record.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screen.
  • Set Schedule but must be able to work flexible hours with the understanding that workdays may exceed your scheduled shift's hours.
  • Weekend and Holiday work may be required.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently to achieve common goals in the field with little supervision.
Physical Demands:
  • Meet the safety restriction weight limit of 275 lbs.
  • Ability to perform job activities outdoors in all weather (extreme cold and/or heat, rain, snow, inclement weather)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces: Attics/ Crawl Spaces
  • Ability to Operate Hand tools and Power tools
  • Ability to visually perceive differences in wire and cable colors.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to complete on-the-job and classroom training
  • Ability to provide efficient, quality customer service face-to-face and over-the-phone.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, drive, stand, kneel, balance, stoop, and reach.
