Exciting SLEEP SPECIALIST (Pediatric/Adult) Opportunity at University of Iowa

The Department of Neurology at University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible sleep medicine physician to be appointed as a Clinical (non-Tenure) Track faculty member at any rank. The candidate will join a progressive and growing sleep division, providing care for both adult and pediatric patients. This position is part of the department's commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care across a variety of subspecialty practice settings, including both inpatient and outpatient environments.
Required Qualifications:
- MD or DO degrees, and eligibility for an unrestricted Iowa medical license
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Sleep Medicine
- Commitment to patient care, teaching, and scholarly professional activities
- Demonstrated experience teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Demonstrated experience promoting an inclusive culture in the workforce and academic environment
Position Details:
- Appointment: Non-tenure clinical track, open rank
- Full-time equivalent (FTE): 1.0 FTE
- 80% clinical (including teaching and patient care within the Department of Neurology)
- 20% academic/administrative time
- Clinical work includes sharing weekday, weekend, and holiday coverage of inpatient and consult services. The department is committed to optimizing time for the candidate's preferred areas of interest.
About the Department of Neurology:
The Department of Neurology is made up of more than 40 full-time faculty members providing leadership in areas such as Cognitive Neurology, Cerebrovascular Disease, Clinical Electrophysiology, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology/MS, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuropsychology, and Sleep Disorders. The department has a strong tradition of research excellence, a well-developed infrastructure, and an ample patient population that supports a wide range of investigations.
