Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Role Scope
Advanced Practitioners at Hartford hospital practice Emergency Medicine (ED) / Emergency Room (ER) in a very busy level 1 trauma center alongside residents and attendings. Advanced practitioners see patients from every triage level

Requirements
Exceptional physical assessment skills required. 6 months experience assessment/diagnosis/treatment of health disruptions and trauma conditions. Suturing, minor surgical skills, splinting/casting, gyn exam (job or preceptorship experience). Strongly preferred: minimum 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine. Proficiency with minor surgical skills essential. Required: Strong communication skills. Demonstrated ability to positively interact with medical\nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Strong customer service skills with a focus on quality and efficiency. The ability to positively react to a busy, demanding, and dynamic clinical atmosphere with varying patient volumes, acuities, and medical problems. FNP / PA-C: graduation from an accredited FNP / PA program (Elective rotation in Emergency Medicine strongly preferred), Masters degree preferred. APRN / PA CT license, current certification, Federal DEA license required.
