As a Therapist at Zinnia Health, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, and support clients in their journey toward recovery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of clients to determine the severity of substance abuse and any co-occurring mental health conditions. Utilize diagnostic tools and clinical interviews to inform treatment planning.
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on client assessments, including short-term and long-term goals. Regularly review and update treatment plans in response to clients' progress and changing needs.
- Therapy and Counseling: Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and other relevant modalities to address substance abuse and related issues.
- Crisis Intervention: Address and manage crises, including substance withdrawal symptoms, relapse prevention, and emotional distress. Provide immediate support and intervention as needed.
- Client Education: Educate clients and their families about substance abuse, recovery processes, and coping strategies. Offer guidance on healthy lifestyle changes and relapse prevention techniques.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and facility-specific documentation standards.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, social workers, and case managers, to provide holistic care. Participate in team meetings and case reviews.
- Community Outreach: Engage in community outreach and educational activities to promote awareness of substance abuse issues and the services offered by the facility.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in substance abuse treatment. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Valid state licensure: LCAC, LCAC-A, LMHC, LMHC-A, LSW, or LCSW.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience providing therapy in a substance abuse treatment setting. Experience with co-occurring disorders preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively in a team environment. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Other Requirements: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Commitment to ethical practices and continuous improvement in clinical skills
