The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in middleware technologies such as webMethods, GemFire, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, and Kafka, along with a strong background in site reliability engineering. The role requires strategic thinking, effective leadership, and hands-on technical proficiency to ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of our critical systems. Familiarity with Kubernetes and docker cluster management is considered a significant advantage.Key Responsibilities:Leadership:Provide strategic direction and leadership to the operational support teamFoster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvementMentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and capabilitiesEstablish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team effectivenessMiddleware Technologies Management:Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of middleware technologies including webMethods, GemFire, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, and KafkaEnsure high availability, reliability, and performance of middleware platformsImplement best practices for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of middleware systemsCollaborate with development teams to design and implement scalable and efficient middleware solutionsSite Reliability Engineering:Lead efforts to enhance the reliability, availability, and performance of production systemsImplement robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms using tools such as Logz.io and DynatraceDrive incident management and resolution processes to minimize downtime and service disruptionsDevelop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical systemsCross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with other teams including development, infrastructure, and security to align operational objectives and prioritiesParticipate in architecture reviews and contribute insights to optimize system design and performanceCollaborate with vendors and external partners for contract renewals and to evaluate new technologies and solutionsContinuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and efficiency gains in middleware and site reliability operationsLead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce manual efforts, and enhance system resilienceStay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to middleware and site reliability engineeringSkills, Experience and RequirementsEducation and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldMaster’s degree preferred Proven experience (6+ years) in managing middleware technologies such as webMethods, GemFire, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, and KafkaSkills and Qualifications:Strong background in site reliability engineering with expertise in monitoring, alerting, incident management, and disaster recoveryExperience with Logz.io and Dynatrace or similar monitoring and observability toolsFamiliarity with containerization and orchestration platforms, with experience in Rancher being a plusExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks effectively and driving resultsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and collaborative approach to addressing technical challengesSalary RangesCompensation: $110,110.00/Year - $157,300.00/Year BenefitsWe offer versatile health perks, including flexible spending accounts, HSA, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, career opportunities, and a flexible time away plan; all benefits can be viewed here: DISH Benefits.The base pay range shown is a guideline.
