Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC) had immediate job opportunities for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), previous psychiatric experience is not required.


Nurses at CDPC are vital members of a multi-disciplinary team focused on providing companionate care and patient-centered and recovery-focused mental health services to individuals with serious mental illness. LPNs at CDPC, under the direction of a Registered Nurse are:


  • Performing nursing care tasks consistent with individual treatment plans
  • Administering medication
  • Attending to individuals’ personal care needs including daily living and hygiene tasks


CDPC, a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, provides inpatient and outpatient treatment and rehabilitation to adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illness, outpatient treatment services for children and adolescents diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances, and operates adult community residences in the Albany/Capital District area. CDPC is committed to supporting underserved individuals, organizations, and communities along with activities and initiatives to reduce disparities in access, quality, and treatment for underserved populations.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • NYS License and current registration to practice as a practical nurse; or
  • NYS Limited Permit to practice as a practical nurse; or
  • Application on file for NYS Limited Permit to practice as a practical nurse
