The team is responsible for taking products like Roadrunner, Ghost, Anvil, and our Sentry Tower from paper sketches to operational systems. We work in close coordination with specialist teams like Perception, Autonomy, and Manufacturing to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. We are looking for software engineers and roboticists excited about working within a powerful robotics stack that includes computer vision, motion planning, SLAM, controls, estimation, and secure communications. In this role you will work to deliver autonomy services and system interfaces that enable collaborative unmanned systems to deliver user-supervised multi-mission capabilities to our customers.WHAT YOU'LL DODesign and deliver autonomy solutions for mobile robotic systems through behavior modeling and execution within mission critical softwareApply and contribute to core libraries that are distributed across all robotics platforms at Anduril to deliver product specific capabilities for autonomous behaviors, health monitoring, and sensor integrationDevelop APIs for inter- and intra-process communications between robotic systems in a time-critical low-latency environmentCreate test and simulation capabilities that operate within both software- and hardware-in-the-loop (SITL/HITL) test fixturesCollaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality for user-supervised autonomous systemsCreate and analyze metrics that are leveraged for debugging and monitoringTriage issues, root cause failures, and coordinate next-steps within a collaborative fast-paced development teamPartner with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraintsTravel up to 30% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real worldREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBS in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field3+ years of experience with Rust or C++ in a Linux development environmentProven understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems, concurrency, and code optimizationFamiliarity with behavior trees and autonomous system architectures3+ years of experience with the design, implementation and support of embedded software, particularly in the field of robotics3+ years of experience writing frontend applications using Typescript and ReactCapacity to learn and grow individually, while mentoring junior team members effectively, building team cohesion and capacityMust be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field with strong computer programming experienceExperience in one or more of the following: motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, controls, and related system performance metrics.Python experienceExperience programming for embedded and physical devicesMulti-agent coordination of UAVsUS Salary Range$138,000—$207,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
