To capitalize on our technical and market success, our team will execute large-scale projects that will define the bottom line for the company. The functions within the department include procurement, planning and fulfillment, supplier development and quality, logistics, and inventory. As SpaceX becomes the overall market leader, it will position us to maximize valuation, fuel growth and ensure achievement.RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze supplier spending and capacity to facilitate and support overall supplier negotiation and engagement strategiesParticipate, support, and execute long-term agreements with strategic suppliersLead supplier quality, development, and performance teams to execute the strategic procurement visionBe the "go to” resource for engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and new product introduction teams when determining best value suppliers, NPI sourcing plans, make vs. buy, should cost, buy complete strategies, and lead times, etc.Build cross-functional teams and champion continuous improvement initiatives for cost, quality, and deliveryDrive design for manufacturability reviews with support from supplier quality and engineeringChampion value add and value engineering projects to improve part quality and reduce costProactively update SpaceX management and engineering teams on all critical supply issuesDevelop and maintain strong supplier relationshipsVisit supplier's facilities and accurately assess technical capability, equipment, and capacityExecute MRP planning messages for production parts.Resolve purchase order discrepancies and invoice issuesAnalyze procurement data and report metricsInterpret the conditions and terms of contracts including fiscal and legal implications and advise management on all significant procedures and regulations affecting the contractEnsure compliance with all company policies and procedures and government regulationsAct as liaison with external and internal customers on all matters affecting contractual agreementsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Advanced degree and 4+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; OR bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; OR 10+ years of experience working in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree:EngineeringPurchasingContract negotiationMaterial or production planningOperations or supply chain managementMaterial cost controlMaster production schedulingCapital equipment sourcing5+ years of prior direct leadership or experience leading/managing a teamPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Master’s degree or PhD5+ years of experience working on contracts or commodity spend worth at least $100 million10+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, engineering, or productionTechnical procurement, manufacturing, or electronic component and board-level commodity experienceProven track record of leadership and team-building skillsExperience in production purchasing preferredExceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsKnowledge and skills in current technologies and applications, e.g. MS Office Suite, SQL, Access, etc.Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsAbility to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needsExcellent customer service skillsAbility to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needsDetail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environmentConducts all activities with the highest integrityPrevious work experience reading datasheets, drawings, and blueprintsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:May need to work irregular hours with global suppliers in different time zonesAble to travel for short and extended trips as neededCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay range: Global Supply Manager: $125,000.00 - $180,000.00/per yearYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
