Academic Geriatrician

The Department of Medicine's Division of General, Geriatric, Palliative, and Hospital Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for an open track, open rank position within our Section of Geriatrics.

Position Details:

  • Develop a clinical practice that includes caring for older adults in ambulatory primary care and consultative clinics.
  • Inpatient responsibilities and opportunities, as well as other geriatric clinical duties, may also be considered,
    in accordance with the successful candidates interests.
  • Leadership role in the Sections educational endeavors, including developing and maintaining innovative curricula for medical students, residents, and fellows in both didactic and clinical sessions.
  • Rank and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO
  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Eligibility or certification (certificate of added qualifications) in Geriatrics is also required.
  • Candidates with at least 3-5 years of experience in academic geriatrics are strongly preferred.
