Join a 25+ year old FQHC, a non-profit, multicultural, community health center. In its efforts to meet the health care needs of the community, group constructed a new $17 million community health center, and began seeing patient. The new facility doubled the health center s capacity to serve low-income, diverse, medically under-served patients in and surrounding communities.
Provides direct patient care service within the OB/GYN department. Assumes care for high-risk OB patients as well as providing increased capacity for high-risk gynecology visits and routine prenatal care. Performs surgical interventions as needed, including surgery at a local hospital and approved office procedures. Collaborates with midwives in hospital and Health Center as needed, including seeing high-risk OB/GYN patients, and providing services that are outside the scope of midwifery practice. Consults & advises midwives as needed. Refers patients, as appropriate, to specialists and other practitioners and facilities. Visits hospitalized patients; serves on rotating hospital coverage schedules.
