The After School Youth Program Aide/School Chaperon (005) will be the responsible for ensuring the safe and timely aide of children from designated schools to the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club for afterschool programs. This position plays a key role in maintaining the safety, supervision, and well-being of children during their transition from school to the Club, while fostering a positive and supportive environment.

    • Pinkerton Clubhouse (005) - Harlem, NY
This is a part-time position working up to 15 hours a week Monday through Friday in the afternoon.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the After School Youth Program Aide/School Chaperon (005) Position:
  • Safely chaperon children from designated schools to Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, either by walking or utilizing approved transportation methods.
  • Conduct headcounts and manage attendance before departure and upon arrival at the Club; to ensure all children are accounted for.
  • Uphold safety standards and follow all protocols to ensure children's well-being during transportation.
  • Maintain a calm, supportive, and engaging atmosphere during the Transitional process, addressing any behavioral concerns when needed.
  • Communicate promptly with the Program Coordinator or Club Director regarding any issues, concerns, or incidents that occur during transition.
  • Assist with afterschool program setup, cleanup, or general supervision when at the Club, if needed.
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with children, parents, school staff, and fellow team members.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Required Skills/Knowledge for the After School Youth Program Aide/ School Chaperon (005) Position:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience working with children or youth programs preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and supervise children in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to handle transitions effectively.
  • First aid and CPR certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • A commitment to the mission and values of the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club.
