Operational Excellence Intern

What you get to do:
- Support Operational Excellence team members in achieving strategic goals.
- Support the team in the planning, mapping, documenting and improvement of standardized work and Boldt operational practices.
- Assist Operational Excellence leaders with administrative functions centered on Change Management, Process Design and Lean Development.
- Use technology to create more visibility into Lean Thinking - best practices, principles and techniques.
- Full-time student enrolled at a college or university with junior or senior status pursuing an undergraduate degree.
- Proficiency required with Microsoft Office Suite, Apps and Online Services including Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMs, OneNote, and Planner.
- Programming skills desired; not required.
- Driven self-starter with proven record of working independently or with a team.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage individual contributions.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical problem solver; phenomenal attention to detail, quality, and standardization (when applicable) when completing assignments.
- Additional participation in a 36-hour lean training course may be necessary to support the work of this group. You will receive your Lean Enterprise Project Certificate as an outcome of this training.
- A valid driver's license may be required. Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check. The outcome of any MVR checks conducted may negatively impact the persons' ability to participate in any vehicle program provided by the company, including but not limited to the ability to drive a personal vehicle on behalf of The Boldt Company or rent a vehicle through for business travel purposes.
Physical requirements and working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to effectively communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.
The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
