We are looking for an Account Director to join Translation! Please note that this role is a Hybrid role: three days in office and two days remote.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the effective, successful delivery of client activity on assigned account(s) with support from an Executive Group Account Director and other lead team members to:
    • Ensure consistent client satisfaction and highest quality of deliverables. Be consistent point of contact to multiple levels of clients to drive breakthrough creative work, work closely with client to develop solutions and efficient ways of working and flawlessly execute each assignment
    • Plan, develop, and defend budget recommendations, creative work goals and KPIs to provide both quality and profitable service to clients
    • Think beyond the task at hand to grow business organically
    • Appoint and direct the activities of the account staff on assigned account(s) within the agency
    • As an AD you are expected to be a lead member of larger client assignment and/or independently lead a smaller or project based client assignment
  • Partner with internal stakeholders across Project Management, Production, Creative, Strategy, Context & Finance to effectively operate the clients business internally:
    • Manage client/account budgets through proper scope definition, risk management, and change management protocols
    • Resolve conflicts through creative problem solving with acute decision-making skills that keep project teams motivated to overcome high-pressure situations and ensure best possible results
    • Lead flawless development and execution of creative product
    • Be a trusted partner across all internal departments to help us develop impactful and ground-breaking ideas and work.
  • Develop deep relationships with clients and partners:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with agency partners inclusive of media agencies, brand partners, and other parties adjacent to the client relationship
    • Demonstrate confidence, authority, and level-headed decision-making as the agency's voice on assigned account(s). Provide confidence in looking forward to potential issues or other opportunities
    • Anticipate and address potential client relationship or revenue issues, advising agency leadership in time for the agency to act proactively
    • Help lead the agency's day-to-day team on behalf of clients' knowledge; be conversant in their key issues, competitive situation, industry trends, and the projects assigned to the agency as well as other communication partners
    • Research and remain in touch with all matters and news as it pertains to clients and their respective industries and audiences; be conversant in their key issues, competitive situation, industry trends, and the projects assigned the agency as well as other communication partners

  • Have significant production experience in supporting and leading complex productions
  • Have a strong understanding of media solutions and communications planning
  • Drive internal and external communications (written, virtual, in person) across the account in a clear, comprehensive and concise manner
  • Make certain the agency's presentation support materials are consistent with clients' expectations and internal standard of the agency's quality
  • Be proactive in providing recommendations and rationale for senior leadership team
  • Regularly report the status of overall account and individual assignment to internal, partner agency, and client stakeholders on a daily basis
  • Support and mentor junior team members helping them navigate client work and further their career paths
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of agency or communications industry experience that ensures your general understanding of advertising, marketing, media, creative, production, public relations, research, agency finance, etc.
  • Familiarity and experience with lifecycle of a creative campaign for a wide swath of expected deliverables.
  • Multicultural experience is a plus but not a mandatory.
  • Experience leading an IAT of cross-functional agency partners (leading calls, driving workstreams forward)
  • Experience interfacing directly with mid and senior level clients
  • Production experience with large scale initiatives

Salary Hiring Range: $110,000 - $130,000

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)

Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.

The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.

The salary range above is for the NY/CA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
