Global Public Services (GPS) - Security Specialist

Location: Chantilly, VA.

The candidate will support Deloitte's compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs), and other government and firm security policies and procedures.

This qualified candidate is an experienced security professional. The primary responsibilities are to perform standard and specialized personnel security (PerSec) processing and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) operational duties in support of the Intelligence Community.

The individual will perform timely and accurate operational and compliance support, facilitate processing of Personnel Security clearance actions as required throughout the personnel security lifecycle including Special/SCI access processing and NISP personnel clearance processing. The position offers an opportunity to apply industrial security processing procedures within a team environment and continue to build a career in the Federal Security profession with exposure to all security disciplines.

The position will require application of regulatory knowledge and experience governed by the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), and agency-specific regulations and programs.

What You'll Do:
  • Initiate, prepare, and submit required personnel security applications (initials, upgrades, and periodic reinvestigations) for access to National Security Information and Intelligence Community programs to include eQIP, SF86, SF86C and other agency required paperwork
  • Support GPS Security personnel security mission to include daily database entries, including but not limited to status checks in DISS; monitoring and queries associated with ensuring our cleared personnel databases are in synch with current employee status; notifications to newly cleared personnel; maintaining updated personnel security and suitability records, outgoing clearance certifications for classified visits; maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within internal database
  • Acts as the quality control specialist for personnel security paperwork, ensuring all packages are accurately completed and ensuring any required/associated documentation is included. Initiate, prepare and submit required personnel security applications (initial and periodic reinvestigations) for access to National Security Information/Intel/Special Access Programs
  • Develop relationships and conduct ongoing follow-up, briefings and communications with engagement teams and government points of contact
  • Prepare and complete visit authorization letters (VAL) for classified visit requests
  • Support the requirements for client badging and onboarding processes
  • Assist with other GPS Security missions/actions and projects, as directed, and required including incident response, creation and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), developing and presenting security awareness briefings
  • Physical security support including self-inspections, completion of Fixed Facility Checklists, and alarm response
  • Provide support and input with Request for Proposal (RFP) response
  • Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) access controlB
  • Badge Systems management, creating badges, auditing and maintaining access control logs
Qualifications:

Required:
  • In-Scope Top Secret/SCI personnel security clearance with Polygraph
  • 4 years of federal security operational and or Personnel Security processing experience with a US intelligence agency
  • Professional, customer-centered attitude; executive demeanor
  • Discrete, with ability to properly handle and protect highly sensitive personnel security data
  • Strong computer skills - MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook; familiarity with security database operations
  • Knowledge of government databases including DISS, Scattered Castles, and eQIP
  • Knowledge of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual
  • Exceptional organizational skills, thorough, detail-oriented and follow-through behaviors essential; strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated proactive contributor and creative thinker who is willing to contribute ideas and operates well in a rapid response environment
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion
  • Must be able to work both independently and in close collaboration with other team members
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Flexible - able to prioritize, reassess in a multifunctional position in a dynamic and fluid work environment
  • Knowledge of government databases including DISS, Scattered Castles, and eQIP, TALON, IPAR and/or eNOM
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Primary office will be onsite 5 days a week in Chantilly, VA
  • Local travel may be required within the Washington DC Metropolitan Area
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Current TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
  • Experience with ICD 705 and SCIF build requirements
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $66,200 to $135,800.
