Who we need

Reporting to the VP, of Finance, we have a newly created opportunity for a Procurement Manager. In this role, you will oversee the entire procurement process, focusing on securing services that deliver the best value. You will develop and implement procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, optimize supply chain operations, and ensure compliance with company policies. Additionally, you will lead and mentor the Procurement Coordinator, collaborating with various departments to ensure procurement strategies align with overall organizational objectives.

This is a hybrid opportunity working remotely and on-site at our downtown location.

As our new Procurement Manager, you will:
  • Own and introduce. You will develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. You will introduce best practice techniques in P2P processes, such as benchmarking and dual sourcing. You will implement the supply chain module within our existing ERP system, including change control, to ensure a successful transition for all stakeholders.
  • Manage external relationships. You will build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors and contractors. You will respond to requests for proposals, quotations, evaluations, negotiations, and award of purchase orders and agreements. You will negotiate pricing and create service-level agreements with suppliers, vendors and contractors.
  • Initiate continuous improvement. You will implement systems, processes, and policies that optimize procurement. You will introduce measures that provide visibility of spending and monitor the percentage of spending. You will review existing contracts with suppliers, vendors and contractors to identify opportunities for vendor base consolidation, standardization, cost savings and other improvements.
  • Verify. You will conduct risk assessments to identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop mitigation strategies. You will ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, code of conduct and legal regulations.
  • Collaborate. You will mentor the Procurement Coordinator. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and departments to understand their needs and requirements and provide education and guidance on sourcing and purchasing processes.

You have:
  • The experience. You have extensive experience in Procurement or Supply chain, including strategic sourcing, supplier management, procurement negotiations, cost management, policy making, and contract management (drafting service-level agreements, project scope, and clauses). You have experience introducing best-in-class processes and guiding change management and adoption across departments. You may be a certified Supply Chain Management Professional.
  • The technical skills. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You are highly proficient with procurement software and MS Office; exposure to D365 is an asset. You may have been part of the implementation of a procurement system.
  • The drive. You have a roll-up-your-sleeves approach and energetic get-it-done style. You thrive in a collaborative environment while working independently and taking ownership of your deliverables. You are a creative problem solver who can anticipate issues and pivot focus in a fast-paced environment.
  • The interpersonal skills. You have professional communication skills and the confidence to lead contract negotiations. You can build trusting, influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You have experience educating departments on procurement processes and systems. You have the patience to guide the work of others and appreciate diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
