The VP Marketing, Americas is responsible for driving revenue growth in the Americas through regional marketing channels. This position will conceptualize and implement marketing strategies to sustain a competitive positioning for the Cepheid suite of products. The VP Marketing, Americas plays a crucial leadership role in fostering and promoting a performance and outcome-based culture within Global Marketing.

The salary range for this role is $213,400 - $334,200. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

The VP Marketing, Americas is responsible for driving revenue growth in the Americas through regional marketing channels. The VP Marketing, Americas plays a crucial leadership role in fostering and promoting a performance and outcome-based culture within Global Marketing.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead a Team of Marketing Directors across a Designated Region: Attract, motivate, retain, and develop talent to deliver excellence and foster a culture of continuous improvement through the Danaher Business System.
- Build and Execute the Annual Marketing Plan for the US, Canada and Latin America: This includes product launches and lifecycle management in collaboration with Global Product Management and Sales channels, to drive core and market share growth by segment and by channel.
- Lead Content Marketing: Develop and deploy targeted messaging and marketing content by persona, segment, and stages of the customer journey, in collaboration with Marketing Communications, to reinforce Cepheid's brand positioning and architecture including contact mapping, multi-channel campaigns, events, conferences, and promotions.
- Develop and Drive Execution of the Americas Digital Strategy: This includes search engine optimization, pay-per-click and other outbound marketing deliverables.
- Drive Market Shaping Strategy and Execution: Coordinate priorities and initiatives with market access, medical affairs, health economics and outcome research, and product management.
- Drive Advocacy & KOL Management: Establish and nurture sustainable partnerships with key strategic accounts and thought leaders to increase advocacy and reference sites. Identify customer needs and existing and potential channels to expand opportunities for on-market products and solutions. Implement targeted account-based marketing strategies within prioritized health systems to increase menu adoption and utilization.
- Achieve Business Objectives: Manage and participate in setting and controlling marketing forecasts, budget, and key performance indicators (KPI), as well as actively participate in Growth Rooms and Marketing Daily Management for Transformative Marketing and Marketing-Influenced initiatives. Provide pricing policies, analytics and guidelines. Monitor, track, and analyze the performance and R.O.I. of marketing activities, campaigns, and programs. Maximize marketing contribution by dynamically managing budget and resources. Support monthly short-term demand forecast and analysis for on-market products.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of relevant experience OR Master's/Doctoral degree with 11+ years of experience AND 6+ years managing people, especially sizable teams (at or above 20 people preferred)
- A demonstrated ability to manage multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks according to established deadlines.
- Willingness to reside within practical commuting distance of Sunnyvale, CA
- Must have significant North American commercial experience
- Demonstrated track record of and passion for developing teams
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Requires frequent travel of up to 30% and may include some international travel.
- Must be able to sit for several hours during business travel.
- Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Vitro diagnostics/molecular testing is preferred, and/or experience in Molecular Biology, and the relevant post-graduate qualification would be an advantage
- Global Commercial experience
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills to forge a cohesive, results-oriented team across sales, marketing, or general management functions.
