Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead Quality activities for Canadian project activities for compliance to regulatory, customer and GEH internal requirements.
- Develop and implement integrated corrective action and operating experience / lessons learned programs to support integrated project delivery model.
- Represent GEH on the integrated corrective action program including but not limited to: coordination and facilitation of condition report screening meetings; performance of apparent and root cause analyses for significant conditions adverse to quality; monitor health of corrective action program including timeliness and trending by creating and refreshing metrics and KPIs on a recurring basis; and performance of effectiveness reviews.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of project quality control plans, supporting procedures and project execution infrastructure for associated activities.
- Lead Quality activities interacting with project partners at Darlington Nuclear Generation Power Plant site for GEH scope of work including but not limited to: field change and deviation evaluation, disposition and verification of implementation; non-conformance processing; and surveillance of GEH work activities.
- Lead the execution of project oversight program including the performance of surveillances, supporting internal and external audits.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in science or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of 7 years related professional work experience in a nuclear quality assurance related capacity.
Desired Characteristics:
- Proven experience in complex projects and providing quality guidance/direction to contributing functions.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to create technical reports suitable for a wide range of audiences.
- Experience with problem solving methodologies, Lean and other related quality methodologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001, CSA N286-12, CSA N299, CSA N285 and other CSA standards.
- Knowledge of nuclear industry technologies (commercial light water, advanced and small modular reactors).
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer focused team environment.
- Familiarity with Root / Apparent Cause Analysis tools and techniques and ability to qualify as an analysis leader.
- Ability and willingness to travel to other GEH/GE, customer, and supplier facilities/sites.
- Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, communicates messages clearly and concisely with the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information / ability to sift through complex information and focus on critical few priorities.
- Experience interacting with senior leadership at customer and/or regulatory organizations.
- Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment.
