Product Management Manager

The Manager of Product Management will have leadership responsibility for the development and implementation of key product strategies within their Segment of responsibility. This position will partner closely with corporate Category Management and Sales leadership to achieve or exceed company objectives with respect to profitable, organic top line growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the leader of the Product Management organization providing thoughtful leadership and oversight on a day-to-day basis
  • Active member of the Product Management Leadership team to set the overall strategic business plan in support of organizational objectives
  • Recruit, develop and leads a group of talented product managers
  • Manages relationships with sales leadership teams to ensure complete alignment to product strategies and key initiatives
  • Partners with corporate Category Management and sales leadership to develop and implement cohesive sales, marketing, and go-to-market strategies in key product categories
  • Establishes standardized product management processes and reporting to drive compliance to preferred product offerings such as Bunzl Own Brands
  • Regularly communicates with sales leadership and corporate Category Management teams to ensure alignment to strategies and priorities
  • Proactively share market intelligence, strategy, and tactics with cross functional counterparts
  • Lead staff in understanding and achieving goals, budgets, and annual plans

  • Advanced understanding of Product and Category Management
  • The candidate must have the leadership style and the personality that inspires individuals to perform
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to clearly articulate a value proposition.
  • Strong sense of urgency, with the drive and knowledge to navigate multi-level relationships
  • High level of emotional intelligence, perceptive, proven ability to develop relationships that withstand objections and unexpected changes in strategy
  • Maturity and perseverance to navigate complex scenarios and timelines


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field required
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a leadership role
  • Prior experience with Distribution Industry, Category Management and/or Product Management is required
  • Product knowledge across multiple industries is a plus.
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional oral & written communication skills, articulate and polished presentation and executive demeanor
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Desire to make profound impact on company's growth trajectory
  • Ability to travel (25-30%).
