Job Description

General Description: The Maintenance Manager leads the Maintenance Department from a Zero EHS impact, Zero Failure philosophy and enables the site to maximize its product output and lowest total cost of ownership. Responsible for the uptime of plant equipment and assets and oversees facility maintenance in accordance with SIG, regulatory, and industry accepted best-practice standards. Responsible for creating, cultivating, and embedding a culture of Continuous Improvement to further the SI Group Brand promise and SI Operational Excellence. Responsible for identifying and engaging team members in developmental activities designed to stimulate long-term individual and organizational growth.

Site Management
  • Serves as member of Site Leadership Team
  • Collaborates with other functional leaders to identify, prioritize, and solve problems to support achievement of site goals and objectives
  • Anticipates future requirements for site and develops and implements strategic plans to meet those requirements

Functional Department Leader Role
  • Ensures EHS compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Ensures department goals are aligned with site business imperatives
  • Develops budget plans following a zero-based approach and manages maintenance costs
  • Ensures timely and quality repair for all site assets requiring maintenance support
  • Executes the site's asset reliability strategy and program to minimize downtime and leverage plant capabilities
  • Maintains accountability for storeroom, ensures adequate availability of rightly identified critical components within budgetary guidelines
  • Manages contractor relationships and contractor work assignments in a way that increases value added work completion; Manages service level agreements and all associated KPIs
  • Directs the daily work order management processes to prioritize work dentification, work approval, planning, scheduling, executing, and closing out maintenance work orders
  • Responsible for time management related to lost time for work orders and departmental overtime in a way that maximizes SI resources
  • Is accountable for the problem-solving and RCA processes to resolve reliability problems, and reduce risks
  • Plans and manages the turnaround/shutdown process in a way that maximizes to value developed through effective preventative maintenance strategies and engineering facility upgrades, while minimizing the impact on plant availability
  • Establishes operational discipline by following Maintenance Manager daily standard work processes, monitors, measures, and audits department leaders to ensure accountability for adherence to daily standard work processes
  • Consistently assesses and evaluates adherence to standard work models
  • Drives KPI progress towards goals and takes appropriate action to ensure accomplishment of goals performance and improvement through effective use of planning and performance management cycle (PPMC). Sets clear goals, rigorously monitors
  • Liaison with Site and Corporate Engineering to continuously improve engineering and construction practices and standards
  • Serves as equipment owner for site infrastructure equipment and facilities

Creating a Culture of Continuous Improvement
  • Drives LEAN/Six Sigma, continuous improvement of processes and operations for increased productivity and efficiency (Operational Excellence)
  • Grows a culture of continuous improvement (CI) by consistently embedding CI into meetings, trainings, processes, and systems
  • Ensures Maintenance work is accomplished through defined, measured, and continuously improved work processes; proactively identifies and leverages Maintenance best practices

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, or demonstrated equivalency
  • Maintenance and Reliability Professional Certification (CMRP) preferred
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in Process industry manufacturing
  • Minimum (3) years in engineering roles in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum three (3) years Supervisory experience
