The opportunity exists to serve as a Primary Care Physician for Fremont CBOC VA Primary Care Clinic . Work with a dynamic, collaborative, and engaged local team to manage high quality & efficient health care on site! The major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Evaluation, including performance of H&P (history and physical); diagnosis; consultation; and treatment of adult patients with medical illnesses performed in the clinic environment * Assessment and care of new and returning patients with any number of medical problems (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, ischemic heart disease, Chronic Pain, COPD) * Manage a patient panel of 1,000-1,100 patients * Responsible for ordering diagnostics, consultations, medications and other therapies as medically indicated, meeting preventative health maintenance needs, completing all required VA computer documentation including clinical reminders and screenings in a timely manner * Perform diagnostic or therapeutic joint aspiration/ injection, soft tissue injection, routine women's health (pelvic exam, breast exam, cytologic pap smear testing, cervical HPV testing), laceration repair, foreign body removal, abscess incision and drainage, diagnostic paracentesis, and wound debridement Requirements include: * Completion of a U.S. based residency program and subsequent Board Eligibility and/or Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine * U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy * This is not a remote or telehealth vacancy. You must live in commuting distance. A compressed schedule is approved. Compensation details: * Salary of $240K-$243K annually * Performance Pay up to $15,000 (These are based on measurable goals) * This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
