Position description The Department of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full time (50% UC Davis and 50% VA Mather) faculty member in the Health Sciences Clinical (HSCP) series or Clinical X series at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service. The salary ranges provided are based on full-time employment and will be prorated for part-time employment. The duties for this position will be split 50/50 between UC Davis Health and the Sacramento VA. For the full position description and to apply, visit recruit.ucdavis.edu/JPF06453 Endocrine Faculty responsibilities include inpatient consultation and outpatient clinical care; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; University/public service; and regular attendance and participation at scheduled meetings and CME activities. The incumbent will be expected to provide expert clinical care in the fields of general endocrinology and diabetes, foster collegiality and work collaboratively in a diverse environment, and adhere to University and VA policies and procedures. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) * Candidate must have a M.D., D.O. or equivalent degree * Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen Additional qualifications (required at time of start) * Board certification/eligibility in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism * Medical licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of California * Strong clinical skills and commitment in obesity * Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
