Join a team that s Changing What s Possible The Division of Hospital Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in historic Charleston, South Carolina, is seeking exceptional candidates with dual training in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry for a specialized Med-Psych position. This role is centered on providing clinical care in our new 12-bed inpatient Med-Psych Unit, specifically designed for patients admitted for medical reasons but who also have significant psychiatric comorbidities. These patients may present with conditions such as refractory delirium, catatonia, or substance abuse. As a Med-Psych physician in this unit, you will play a crucial role in managing the complex interplay of medical and psychiatric needs, offering comprehensive care that addresses both aspects of your patients health. This position also provides a unique educational opportunity, allowing you to mentor and teach medical students and residents from the combined Med-Psych, Internal Medicine, and Psychiatry residency programs. Located in University Hospital on the MUSC Health Charleston campus, the Med-Psych Unit is near our 100-bed Institute of Psychiatry, facilitating seamless collaboration and continuity of care. As a member of our well-established academic hospital medicine team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of services, including teaching, direct patient care, and surgical co-management. Additionally, you will be part of our commitment to innovation through tele-hospitalist services that support rural hospitals across South Carolina.
