ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Manager, PMO is responsible for overseeing the Ontario Northland's shared services Project Management Office, ensuring that all PMO projects are prioritized, planned, and are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves developing, implementing and improving PMO processes, managing a team of project managers, and ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage the PMO team
- Provide guidance and mentorship to project managers through regular 1:1 meetings, team meetings and coaching sessions
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success
- Manage project budgets and financials
- Ensure optimal utilization of project management tools and software
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects
- Assign projects and activities to project managers
- Respond to service requests to initiate new projects or activities
- Ensure projects are aligned with organizational goals and strategies
- Monitor project progress and performance, addressing any issues or risks
- Develop and implement PMO policies, procedures, and standards
- Continuously improve project management processes and methodologies
- Ensure compliance with PMO standards across all projects
- Support the development and implement intake process to ensure strategic alignment and inform decision-making, monitoring, sustainment, and evaluation
- Support the review and prioritization of projects, through consultation with Executive Lead, Agency Modernization and divisional leadership
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and members of senior leadership team
- Facilitate project meetings and presentations
- Provide weekly project and portfolio updates to direct reports and Executive Lead, Agency Modernization
REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced College Diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology or Project Management or related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required
- Certification preferred in PROSCI, Quality Management, Risk Management and/or Lean Six Sigma
- Minimum 5 years experience in Project Management, Change Management, in a direct leadership role
- Outstanding leadership experience and skills, including the ability to lead, manage and mentor a cross-functional, interdependent team of professionals
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the execution and implementation of PMBOK and PROSCI principles
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently as a team member in a fast-paced environment in stressful situations
- Experience working with senior level executives and multiple stakeholders
- Advanced understanding of modern technology systems, hardware, apps, solutions, etc.
- Above average written and presentation skills with ability to adapt to different audiences
- Experience with Business Analysis Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and related tools such as Microsoft Visio/Mind Map, and other software such as MS Office Suite
- Ability to set priorities, manage competing demands, demonstrate sound judgment and strong problem resolution skills.
