An opportunity exists within the Siemens Energy Canada Aeroderivative Gas Turbines (AGT) Team based in Montreal for an Aerothermal Specialist. As part of the Engineering team, the Aerothermal Specialist will report to the Analytical Skills manager. The successful candidate will be expected to interface with other departments and business units to deliver world-class aerothermal analysis and design solutions in Turbines, Compressors and Installations. To do this, a wide variety of corporate tools and procedures are used, most of which are unique to Siemens Energy AGT. The successful candidate will be expected to be a highly flexible individual who can apply an excellent understanding of fluid dynamics and heat transfer to a wide range of applications.
How You'll Make an Impact
• You will conduct aerodynamic analysis and design of internal turbomachinery components of an aeroderivative gas turbine engine
• You will conduct analysis and design of the cooling of internal turbomachinery components of an aeroderivative turbine engine
• You will maintain and develop state of the art aerothermal design and analysis procedures
• You will participate in activities with a strong focus on continuous improvement, and will continually seek to improve quality and timescales whilst reducing costs
What You Bring
• You have the legal right to work in Canada
• You have at least a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or equivalent)
• You have 1 year or more of experience within compressor and turbine design and analysis in industry or academia (this is an asset, although other candidates will be considered)
• The ideal candidate will have an excellent background in Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
• Good understanding of aero-elastics, cooling technology and turbines is an asset
• Basic understanding of combustion is an asset
• You are a good communicator, both written and verbal
• You master the French language
• Being a member, or being eligible to become a member of the "Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)" is an asset

In the Analytical Skills department of the Core Engineering function, we are committed to providing high quality technical work in support of AGT programmes. From preliminary engine design concepts to in-service engine support, we cover all aspects of aero-derivative gas turbine analysis.
