Summary:
The successful candidate for this position will report to the Vice President & Deputy General Counsel, IP and Privacy and will work closely with ADT management and other business stakeholders to meet the intellectual property needs of our business. This position requires an individual with strong legal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing ADT's portfolio of intellectual property assets, including the prosecution of patents and trademarks and securing other intellectual property rights.
- Conducting and managing freedom to operate, non-infringement, validity, and other intellectual property reviews.
- Conducting and managing the review of intellectual property issues related to corporate mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and integrations.
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents relating to intellectual property.
- Managing, coordinating, and assisting in representation of the company as to intellectual property related issues in legal disputes.
- Preparing and reviewing policies and guidelines related to intellectual property.
- Working with outside and other in-house counsel as required.
- Advising ADT management and other business stakeholders with respect to the foregoing.
- Managing staff in support of the foregoing.
- Performing other intellectual property related duties as assigned.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Must have at least 5-10 years of experience as a practicing intellectual property attorney.
- Must be a registered patent attorney with significant experience in patent prosecution.
- Must have at least a bachelor's degree in science or engineering, preferably electrical engineering or computer science.
- Must have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Must be a member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
- Experience in negotiating intellectual property related agreements (particularly software-related agreements) and other legal documents is preferred but not required.
- Experience in intellectual property related issues in corporate mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and integrations if preferred but not required.
- Experience in data privacy law is preferred but not required.
