Nature and Scope
This position is a member of the Logistics Department. The Logistics Department is responsible for warehouse activities associated with the manufacture of safe, effective and sterile pharmaceuticals in accordance with company SOPs, policies and cGMPs. In conjunction with Production Management, the Logistics Department provides input and assistance to other Departments as needed, playing a critical role in maintaining production schedules and meeting Company goals. Receive materials (both inventory and non-inventory items), put away materials in rack locations. Pull and stage materials for production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receiving Functions:
Verify incoming shipments against Bill of Ladings, and Purchase orders for correct items, counts and contents.
Receive incoming inventory and commodities directly in the AS400 computer system or by the use of scanning guns.
Put away received inventory items in proper storage locations.
Deliver received non-inventory materials to end user community.
Segregate and quarantine materials requiring Q.A/ Q.C. sampling and testing.
Assist Q.A/Q.C. in sampling by providing them with materials required and/or staging materials in an appropriate manner.
Remove materials from the Quarantine area for release and then transferring items physically to release locations and electronically on the AS/400.
Inform logistics management of any inventory discrepancies.
Perform daily and monthly cycle counts.
Ability to certify and drive material handling equipment in warehouse areas.
Production Support Functions:
Receive, verify and put away incoming materials, equipment and supplies per procedure and keeps receiving logs up-to-date and accurate.
Transfer and stage raw materials and componentry to the production staging area.
Verify all materials being issued are of the correct item code #, within retest dates and that quantities on the container are represented on the Inventory System.
Ensure the proper staging of materials to the production floor based on the receiver # in F.I.F.O. order.
Check materials returned from production for proper identification, condition and correct quantities.
Place returned materials in proper storage location both physically and electronically.
Receives and ships Controlled Substances and Hazardous Materials in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations.
Stores materials and supplies and provides assistance with maintaining inventory records.
Picks, and delivers materials, equipment and supplies to requesting departments and files request documents.
Perform daily and monthly cycle counts
Accurately executes and records actions according to batch record instructions.
Accurately utilize the warehouse management/inventory control systems
Performs general upkeep and cleaning of warehouse, dock and auxiliary storage areas per procedure.
Will perform entries in the BPCS/LX system and will update files.
Education Requirements and Qualifications
High School Diploma, or GED equivalent, preferred.
Distribution and warehouse experience, preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, AS400 computer experience preferred
Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and willingness to learn and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
Possesses basic math skills.
Ability to take feedback constructively and function in a team oriented work environment.
Must be able to certify and drive material handling equipment in warehouse areas within 89-day probationary period.
Ability to conform to all associated regulatory requirements, FDA & DEA, as well as state and local regulations associated with the transportation of materials.
Must be able to read documents in Standard English such as Standard Operating Procedures, maintenance schedules and operating manuals.
Physical Environment and Requirements
Employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Expected Hourly Rate:
$19.80
The hourly rate displayed is the hourly rate of compensation for the role that the employer in good faith believes to be accurate at the time of the posting of an advertisement for the role.
