In this role, you will focus on validating energy efficiency for Apple’s hardware products through testing and analysis.DescriptionThis position is offered in Apple's Environmental Technologies group within Apple's Hardware Engineering division. Our mission is to deliver world-leading programs to address the impacts of climate change, conserve resources, and utilize safer materials in our products. As an Energy Compliance Lab Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting energy efficiency testing on products in development within Apple’s Environmental Technologies Energy Efficiency Lab. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with product compliance engineers and cross-functional teams to rigorously test and validate energy efficiency performance across all product lines. Success in this position requires a critical thinker with strong debugging skills and a proactive approach to learning and optimizing processes. Additionally, you will play a key role in evaluating and recommending new equipment and processes to strengthen lab capabilities.Minimum QualificationsBachelors Degree in Engineering or 3 years of equivalent practical experience3+ years of experience in hardware product-related energy efficiency testing (e.g., EU ErP Lot X/Lot 3, Battery Charging Systems, Energy Star)Preferred QualificationsExperience in operating test equipments (e.g. Power meters, Battery testers, AC sources)Experience in product disassembly and creating detailed Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) for testingExpertise in energy lab setup, lab management, maintenance and improvementsStrong communication skills, adaptable to both collaborative and independent work settingsExcellent communication skills with diverse audiences, from engineers to executivesThrives in environments where attention to detail is requiredExpertise in project management, including organizing, managing, and producing high qualityDeliverables within tight timelines working with cross functional teamsDetail-oriented with a commitment to qualityPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,909 and $214,500 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
