Job Purpose
As a member of the Performance Design Department, you will be responsible to confirm specifications and requirements using CAE. Proficient use of CAE contributes to improved optimization, speed, and efficiency of our products and development processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Utilize CAE tools to execute analysis for assigned specification setting and requirement confirmation activities
- Collaborate with test and part design engineers to optimize specifications for performance, cost, and weight
- Create documentation for specification and confirmation results and explain to direct supervisor
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
- 0-3 years of engineering experience including co-op/internship or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with 1D CAE, 3D CAE, and programming language software such as Carsim, Carmaker, Adams, Simpak, Amesim, Matlab, Python, and Excel VBA.
- Understanding of suspension, steering, and brake system and component performance concepts.
- Understanding of the use 0D/1D/3D CAE software to create performance specifications and confirm performance requirements for chassis systems.
- Ability to breakdown complex concepts into simple summaries.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily conducted at an office desk. Some time is spent at test facilities for collaboration.
- Hybrid (office/home) work is available.
- Travel and overtime are occasionally required.
