The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.Responsibilities:Manage one or more Applications Development teams in an effort to accomplish established goalsUtilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applicationsReview and analyze proposed technical solutions for projectsContribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areasDevelop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goalsProvide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situationsImpact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/projectEnsure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessaryAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.Qualifications:6+ year's experience using tools for statistical modeling of large data setsProficient in two or more programming languages such as Python, Bash shell scripting, and SQL.Multiple years of experience with software engineering best practices (unit testing, automation, design patterns, peer review, etc.) Clear understanding of Data Structures and Object-Oriented Principles.Multiple years of experience supporting horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, and low latency applicationsMultiple years of experience with Cloud-native development and Container Orchestration tools (Serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.). Experience of building solutions in the public cloud (AWS, Google Cloud) Experience of distributed data platforms such as Kafka, S3, Cassandra etc. Experience of NFS, Isilon, Power flex and management is an added advantage. Understanding of SAS Viya 4 and SAS model. Experience of driving and/or influencing the data strategy of your team or organization and providing technical vision and guidance to your team.Thrives in a dynamic environment, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.Stakeholder and people management experienceDemonstrated leadership skillsProven project management skillsEducation:Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experienceThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
