The Arena Group is seeking a talented senior editor for our digital operations focused on breaking, trending, and viral automotive news content that feeds passionate gearheads with the latest news and insights. This senior editor will oversee daily auto content, while assigning and editing to a group of freelance writers. Some writing will also be required. We're looking for a creative and ambitious candidate with sound journalistic instincts who feels comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and wants to help build something big. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential.
The Arena Group's expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $100,000 - $140,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group's total compensation and benefits available to its employees.

What You'll Do:
- Oversee, assign, and write breaking news and trending content based on daily auto news
- Possess a specific interest and expertise in car trends, electric vehicles, and personalities in the space
- Assist in identifying potential stories by closely monitoring breaking news and trending topics via social media, Google and other tools
- Provide input on compelling story ideas and concepts that attract audiences
- Develop editorial calendars and organize the coverage across the auto landscape, from news to events, car reviews, and more
- Assist in providing interesting insights and analysis that are engaging, impactful and shareable
- Share your deep understanding of digital audiences, how traffic moves across search and social, and how to capture those audiences
What You'll Bring:
- BA/BS degree in journalism, English or related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience and success in digital journalism at a recognized news organization
- Newsroom management experience
- An understanding of the auto industry as well as the online media landscape
- Strong editorial, collaboration, and communication skills
- Creative storytelling ideas
- Comfortable with a fast-paced newsroom
