Vascular Neurologist - Henry Ford Macomb Hospital

Henry Ford Health Systems Department of Neurology is seeking a Board-eligible/Board-certified Vascular Neurologist to join our team in Clinton Township, Michigan, at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. This role presents a unique opportunity to become the Director of the Stroke Center at a Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, with plans for expansion to a fully thrombectomy-capable facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Direct the stroke center and serve as the face of cerebrovascular care within the community.
- Program Development: Co-develop the neuro-interventional program alongside an interventional neurologist anticipated to join in July 2021.
- Clinical Duties:
- Conduct inpatient consultations, balancing neurohospitalist and stroke responsibilities (approximately 50-50).
- Provide outpatient stroke services to ensure continuity of care.
- Call Duties: Share call responsibilities with community neurologists and have the opportunity to take stroke call for Henry Ford Hospital, the comprehensive stroke center within the health system.
- Patient Care: Manage stroke cases effectively, with an aim to retain more patients at HF Macomb Hospital (457 ischemic strokes and 45 hemorrhagic strokes admitted in 2019).
Hospital Facilities & Support:
- Utilize state-of-the-art equipment, including a Siemens Biplane Neurointerventional Suite and advanced imaging platforms.
- Access to a full ICU, with plans to expand neuro-ICU services as the stroke and interventional programs develop.
- Collaborate with six on-site Henry Ford Neurosurgeons for comprehensive neurosurgical support.
- Work within an environment conducive to academic pursuits, including teaching roles for medical students, neurology residents, and vascular neurology fellows.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an ACGME/AOA approved Neurology Residency program.
- Completion or current enrollment in a Vascular Neurology Fellowship program.
